Biography

Tekla Bude is currently the Kathleen Hughes Research Fellow, having studied at the University of Michigan (BA, 2006), Oxford University (MSt, 2007), and the University of Pennsylvania (PhD, 2013). Her research focuses on the intersection of mysticism, literature, and music, and as a fellow she is revising her dissertation, entitled Musica Celestis: Mystical Song and Musical Postures in Late Medieval England. Her next project will focus on Medieval mathmatics and its role in theology and lay devotion in the 12th-16th centuries.
