Virtual Tour

Google Street View’s Special Collections team visited Newnham to capture historic locations around College and now you can take a virtual tour of our beautiful site.

Explore our stunning Grade II* listed Victorian Yates Thompson Library with its impressive ornamented ceiling and 90,000 books, or visit Clough Hall, our formal dining hall, which has a spectacular wagon roof.

Take a tour of our grounds to admire the stunning red-brick Basil Champneys buildings which feature sash windows, curly pedimented gables, steep roofs and curving bay windows. Or wander virtually around our 18 acres of gardens to look at our sunken garden with a formal pool, the herbaceous borders or our wild meadow.

Newnham College Library is one of the best-stocked and most beautiful college libraries in Cambridge, as when the College was founded women were not allowed to use the main University Library.
