"Newnham is the most fantastic place - an easy-going but resolute embodiment of a 'girl-power' as relevant now as it was in 1871 - encouraging members to do whatever the hell they want to do in life, and to be proud of it." Lucy Stoy

Dissemination

Newnham also provides a number of forums in which members of the College can discuss research topics:
  • Pudding Seminars: on four Friday lunchtimes each term, we have short presentations of current research over cake and tea or coffee. Speakers are equally drawn from among the Senior Members, graduate students and undergraduates -- in the latter case the topic is often that of the final-year dissertation.
  • Senior Members Research Forum : an irregular series of talks, in which Senior Members describe their current research in the Principal's Lodge, before adjourning for dinner and further questions in Hall.
  • The Gibbs lectures and dinner: an annual event in which the previous year's Gibbs Fellows present their work to a wide audience drawn from all over the University.
