Location

Locate Newnham College and travel information

Newnham's location is a key reason for holding your conference at the College. It is situated just five minutes' drive from exit 12 of the M11; limited parking is available on site and other parking facilities can be arranged through the Conference & Events Co-ordinator. Alternatively, the College is a short taxi ride from the train and bus stations. It is a pleasant 10-minute stroll into the centre of Cambridge with its historic sites, shops, the famous "Backs" along the river and other places to enjoy. The College is just across the road from the Arts and Humanities lecture theatres (which can seat up to 400) and libraries, and near many of the other University Departments.

Access Routes

Road: The College (map) is on Sidgwick Avenue, just off the A603 and approximately 2 miles from Junction 12 on the M11.

Rail: There are regular train services from London King's Cross and Liverpool Street and from the North and Midlands.

Coach: A frequent coach service runs between London - Victoria Coach Station and Cambridge - Drummer Street.

Air: Stansted is the nearest international airport. There are regular coach services from Cambridge to all London airports.

City Centre

Car Parking

The College does have parking available but it is limited. Other parking facilities can be arranged through the Conference & Events Co-ordinator. All vehicles are left at owner's risk.  There is pay-and-display parking on Sidgwick Avenue, Ridley Hall Road & Newnham Walk.

Taxi

There is a free taxi call-line located at the Porters' Lodge.

Tourist Information

The Tourist Information Centre is situated in Wheeler Street (behind the Guildhall): telephone 01223 322640. Guided Tours of the city are arranged daily from the Tourist Information Centre where tickets can be bought.
