- The conference team had been incredibly helpful in the lead up to the event and their pro-active approach was very much appreciated and reassuring.
- The Porter on duty was very helpful and showed us to the meeting rooms. He also helped with the loan of a trolley for our heavy kit.
- The AV equipment was set up and ready for us to use. The speakers found the equipment very easy to use. The AV representative was incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
- The food was very good – above average – and well received by the attendees.

“The Cynthia Beerbower Room provided an excellent venue for our nearly 50 international participants. The AV technicians were exceptionally good in arranging and testing the equipment so that the hybrid conferencing ran smoothly. The working lunches, teas and coffees were very appetizing and well received. The four course Consortium Dinner held in the College Hall with drinks beforehand was a huge success and was appreciated by everyone, the meal itself being excellent and the service everything one could hope for. “We arranged to hold our mother’s celebration of life service at Newnham in the college hall – she didn’t have any particular connection with the college, but was a local Cambridge resident for many years, and we couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome. The hall is beautiful and light, and everyone – from the conference manager, the porters, the AV manager and the caterers – were friendly and helpful, even when more people than intended turned up, and we had to change things around at the last minute. It was interesting to note that once the main course arrived the chatter was replaced by almost total silence around the table as everybody got stuck in to the delicious combination of flavours – chicken crackling – who knew??!!! The diabetic lady was thrilled with her dessert, because it was delicious, AND because someone had taken the trouble to create something she could eat worry-free.
