Lunchtime Recital: Megan Wheeler (Flute)

Meg Wheeler (3rd year Music student at St Catz) will be presenting the following programme for solo flute:

C P E Bach: Hamburger Sonata

Mozart: Concerto in G major (1st movement)

Fauré: Fantasie

Frank Martin: Ballade

Megan Wheeler is in her final year studying Music at Cambridge. She has been playing flute since the age of seven and has achieved DipABRSM in Performance as well as being awarded a Kellaway Instrumental Scholarship and the Karen Kerslake Memorial Prize by her college of St Catharine’s. She has been actively involved in the Cambridge music scene throughout her degree, performing with a range of orchestras including her permanent position as the piccolo player for the Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra this year. Her ultimate ambition is to pursue a career as a professional flautist, particularly in the orchestral field, therefore she is currently hoping to study a postgraduate in performance at a conservatoire.
