Applying
Feedback
Before the annual application deadline of 15 October we are more than happy to talk to potential applicants, their teachers and their parents about the application process, in order to advise them on course and college choice. However, once applications have arrived, we will then only be able to communicate with the applicants concerned. We will send emails and letters concerning the application (e.g. about interview arrangements, tests, decisions and outcomes) directly to the applicants, with copies to their schools or colleges.
Once decisions have been made, we provide feedback on unsuccessful applications if applicants request it before 31 January. It is our policy to send this feedback to the applicants’ schools or colleges, because we feel that teachers are best placed to put the information in context. If an applicant is no longer at school or college, we are happy to send the feedback directly. We regret that, due to the Data Protection Act, we are unable to engage in any discussion with parents, unless we have the written permission of the applicants concerned. In the case of formal complaints, we follow the University’s complaints procedure. Copies are available on request.
