Visiting Newnham
One of the best ways to learn about Newnham is to come and visit! This will give students a chance to experience the atmosphere and will give a better impression of what our College and Cambridge are really like. This is also a great chance to meet current undergraduates, if you visit during the
University terms (though you are welcome to visit during our vacations, too). The easiest thing to do is to come to one of our many
Open Days, but we are very aware that schools or other organisations may find it difficult to fit in with our events, so we are always more than happy to arrange visits for individual schools or a group of schools from a Local Authority. These are best suited for Yr12s.
The programme for day visits is flexible, and we are willing to try to work around specific requests. A typical programme might include an informative talk or two by the Admissions Tutor and/or the School Liaison Officer about Cambridge and Newnham; the courses we offer for undergraduate study; the application process; sessions on writing personal statements for Cambridge applications; how to approach the interviews; a tour of the College (sometimes with current undergraduates), or a Q & A session with undergraduates. Depending on how much time you have in Cambridge, a tour of the historic town centre, one or two other nearby colleges and faculties, and perhaps a visit to one of the University's many museums may be possible. Details can easily be discussed and arranged with the Schools Liaison Officer. Get in touch!

Visitors to Newnham College', which lists some practical points to be taken into consideration when planning a visit.
