Newnham College invites applications from men and women for a College Lectureship in the Biological Sciences involving the equivalent of four to six hours’ small group teaching a week during Full Term time. The post will be tenable only in conjunction with another salaried academic or research appointment in the University of Cambridge or local research institution. Applications are encouraged from candidates who specialise in any field of biological science but candidates must be able to teach one or more courses in Part 1A and/or Part 1B of the undergraduate Cambridge Natural Sciences Tripos. There is a particularly strong need for a College Lecturer in Plant Physiology. Previous experience in supervising one or more courses is desirable. Candidates must also be willing to work as part of a team sharing in the direction of studies.
Payment is between £3789 and £5683 per annum, depending on the number of teaching hours. College Lecturers are normally offered an office or study in College; they have access to research funds, to child care support, and to the College’s standard IT package and shared equity scheme.
Prospective candidates are welcome to contact Dr Catherine Lindon (email@example.com) for additional information or to arrange an informal discussion.
The Further Particulars document should be obtained from the College’s website: http://www.newn.cam.ac.uk/about/vacancies/academic-vacancies/ and applications must be submitted on-line. Details of how to submit an on-line application are included in the Further Particulars document.
The closing date for the receipt of applications is midnight on Monday 16th July 2018. Candidates are asked to request that references be submitted on-line by Monday 23rd July 2018. Interviews for short-listed candidates are scheduled for Tuesday 31st July 2018.
