Visiting the Gardens

We will be delighted to open the gardens again to members of the public from Monday 19 July, after all exams and General Admission are over.

If you do decide to visit us when we re-open, please ensure that there are no more than 6 people in your group and that children are accompanied at all times. The best place to enter will be from the Pfeiffer Arch at the top of Newnham Walk, rather than entering via the Porters’ Lodge.

The Iris Café will be open Monday to Friday, and you can feel free to bring a picnic or drinks with you. The accessible toilet by the Café will be available to external visitors for this period only.

Advance notice, while not required, would be helpful to the Porters for managing the flow of people, so please email if possible.

In usual times, the College gardens are open to visitors on most days throughout the year. There are periods, however, when the College is closed to visitors, for example over the Christmas Vacation. Should you wish to visit the garden please check that it is open first, by contacting the Porters’ Lodge on Tel: 01223 335 700.

For groups of six or more people, please contact the Domestic Bursar on Tel: 01223 335 801 who will be able to offer advice and set arrangements in place for your visit. The College Head Gardener conducts private tours for groups. For information, please contact the Head Gardener directly on Tel: 01223 335 777.
