The Graduate Admissions Office (based in the Student Registry) processes applications for the majority of graduate courses. Those wishing to apply for PGCE, MBA or Clinical Medicine courses should apply to the relevant departments.
The key thing you need to know is that you need to be accepted by a Faculty or Department AND by a College.
Newnham does not have a separate application form for admission as a postgraduate student. There is a space to indicate College preference on the University application form (Applicant Portal). Once you have been accepted by a Department or Faculty, your application form will be circulated to the Colleges on your preference list. In order to be considered by Newnham, you should list us as your first preference college.
We are likely to accept you if you have a good first degree and can demonstrate that you have funding or are able to self fund. If English is not your first language you may be required to prove that your English is of an appropriate standard for academic purposes.
Whilst selection is solely on the grounds of academic merit, we will be able to support you more effectively if you disclose any disability or medical condition that affects your ability to study. We aim to plan support and adjustments as far in advance as possible for all disabled students.
