Research Fellowships (stipendiary or non-stipendiary)

The College offers three-year research fellowships from the beginning of the academic year. Further particulars can be obtained from the Principal’s Secretary.

The Phyllis and Eileen Gibbs Travelling Fellowship

The Phyllis and Eileen Gibbs Travelling Fellowship assists women graduates who have considerable experience of research, for fieldwork outside the British Isles (and normally not within their own countries of residence), in biology, archaeology, social anthropology or sociology. Further particulars can be obtained from the Principal’s Secretary.

The Dr Margaret Speight Fund

The Dr Margaret Speight Fund helps graduates without prior medical training who wish to begin studying at any medical school. Applications are open in April. Please complete an application form. For further information, contact the Tutorial Office.

The R M Jackson Fund

The R M Jackson Fund helps undergraduates, graduates or past students wishing to begin further education in Law, whether or not they are studying or have studied Law as a first degree. The Margaret Sylvia Kemp Fund

The Margaret Sylvia Kemp Fund is for Newnham graduands, current graduates or past students who intend to practice at the Bar. Students need not have studied Law, but evidence of serious interest in the Bar, such as participation in mooting competitions or mini-pupillages will be expected. Applications are open in June.
