We will be excitingly taking the conversation online for our next Newnham Family Forum event in October. This is an exciting new opportunity for us to engage with even more alumnae who will be able to join us from their homes from all around the world as our recent virtual events have shown. The theme will be ‘Stories from Lockdown’, focusing on hearing different experiences of lockdown from researchers and alumnae.
Joining us to share their experiences of lockdown will be Libby Richards (NC 2005), who is a senior civil servant within the Department of Health and will share some of her experiences working in this government department during the pandemic; Ruth Shin (NC 2007) who will be sharing her experiences of giving birth to her second child during lockdown; Victoria Singh (NC 1971) who will be joining us from India, sharing what her experience of the pandemic has been like in her region; and we will also be joined by a yet to be confirmed researcher from the University of Cambridge Centre for Family Research who will talk us through some of the research that the centre has been doing on the effects of lockdown on families. There will be opportunity for questions at the end of the event.
We will be hosting the event on Zoom, please ensure that you have a Zoom account. You can create a Zoom account on the Zoom website.
