Dr Carol Atack appointed a Syndic of the Fitzwilliam Museum

Fellow in Classics, Dr Carol Atack, has been appointed a Syndic of the Fitzwilliam Museum. The Syndics are the fourteen members who undertake the local governance of the Museum.

Carol is well known for her love of the arts, both contemporary and classical, as well as her intellectual and administrative abilities – Newnham members are already confident that she will be a wonderful asset to the Museum.

She tells us, “It’s a very exciting time at the Fitz with a lot of research work going on, such as to address the legacy of slavery in the collections, and other projects to transform accessibility and resources to improve access to the collection for both physical and on-line visitors. And it’s obviously a very challenging time in the museum world as everywhere. I expect I’ll be kept busy…”
