Margaret Anstee Centre: Funding for Graduate Events

The Margaret Anstee Centre for Global Studies invites applications to a new fund, created to support Newnham graduate students (MPhil and PhD) in hosting academic events on

  • (a) themes related to research being carried out in the Centre; or
  • (b) on the wider research remit of the Centre, which is to promote research into economic and social development and international relations.

Proposed events can take any format (e.g. workshops, seminars, talks, panel discussions, film screenings etc.), but must be related to the Centre’s research remit.

The Centre also hosts the Archives of the Disappeared, an interdisciplinary initiative that addresses the challenges of research, documentation, and evidence collection in the study of communities, social movements, life-worlds and cultures that have been destroyed through acts of large-scale violence.

Applications will be accepted for up to £250.00 per event, and must be from graduate students currently studying at Newnham College. Some administrative support may be possible. During the 2019/20 academic year, the Fund will run two funding cycles, with application deadlines of 15th November 2019 and 15th February 2020.
