Newnham College appoints Professor Liba Taub as new Senior Tutor

Professor Liba Taub

Professor Liba Taub has been appointed to replace Dr Terri Apter as Senior Tutor.

Dr Apter (NC 1969) is retiring at the end of September after fifteen years as a Fellow and Senior Tutor, as a Chair or member of nearly every Committee, and as Disability Liaison Officer.

She has been awarded a Leverhulme Emeritus Fellowship from 1 October 2015.

Professor Taub, pictured, has been Director and Curator of the Whipple Museum of the History of Science, University of Cambridge, since 1995; she is a Professor of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge; she is a Professorial Fellow and Graduate Tutor at Newnham College and she is Newnham’s Director of Studies in History and Philosophy of Science.

She has an outstanding academic record as an internationally-recognised expert on ancient Greco-Roman science.
