A third year Land Economy student, Aleksandra Pedraszewska, was the first recipient of a recently established leadership prize.

The Cambridge Leadership Prize was established by the Cambridge University Officers’ Training Corps (CUOTC) to promote the subject of leadership across the universities in East Anglia.

The annual competition is open to all undergraduates at the University of Cambridge, Anglia Ruskin University, University of East Anglia, University of Essex, University of Hertfordshire and the University of Bedfordshire.

Aleksandra was presented with a cheque for £1000 by Lieutentant General James Bashall CBE, Commander Personnel Support Command and Captain Victor Lucas RN DL, High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire at a special dinner at Christ’s College on January 23.

The Newnhamite was also named as the Female Undergraduate of the Year in the national TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards event last year.
