BSc, MRes, PhD
- Postdoctoral Affiliate
- Postdoctoral Research Associate, Centre for Pathogen Evolution, Department of Zoology
I received my BSc in Biotechnology from Bangalore University, India, and an MRes in molecular biosciences (immunology) from Newcastle University, UK. I was awarded a Gates Scholarship to pursue doctoral training in parasite biology and evolution at the Department of Pathology in Cambridge. I completed my PhD in 2016, and after a brief stint travelling and interning in medical consultancy, I took up my current position as a Research Associate at the Centre for Pathogen Evolution in the Department of Zoology.
I am interested in how parasites and pathogens evolve, the effect of interplay with host immunity and the environment, and how this knowledge can be used for vaccine design and determining the risk of disease emergence.
