Dr Janina Schupp brings together architecture and film, focusing on military simulations of urban spaces and populations.
Dr Janina Schupp is a Affiliated Lecturer in Architecture and the Moving Image in the Department of Architecture, and Postdoctoral Research Assistant on the Arts and Humanities Research Council-funded project ‘A Cinematic Musée Imaginaire of Spatial Cultural Differences’ (CineMuseSpace).
Janina was awarded a British Research Council Fellowship at the John W. Kluge Center of the Library of Congress in Washington, DC in 2015-2016 and a Camargo Foundation Fellowship in 2017.
She holds a BA in Film, Radio and Television Studies with First Class Honours from Canterbury Christ Church University and an MPhil in Screen Media and Cultures with Distinction from the University of Cambridge.
Janina also works as a film and television producer on news and documentary films. Her most recent projects include two primetime, feature-length documentaries for ZDF German television.
Dr Janina Schupp’s research focuses on military simulations and cultural representations of architecture, urban spaces and marginal population groups.
