Owen began his undergraduate philosophical studies in Cambridge in 2006, then stayed on to study the MPhil and PhD. Since finishing his PhD in 2014, he completed a year of postdoctoral research in Cambridge funded by The Analysis Trust, before teaching Philosophy in Oxford, Cambridge and the LSE. Research Interests
Dr Owen Griffiths’ research is in philosophical issues at the heart of logic. Under what circumstances is an argument valid? Is there one correct system of logic, or many? What are the uses of non-classical systems of logic?
His main current research project is a monograph, One True Logic, co-authored with Professor Alex Paseau, Oxford. They defend a strong infinitary logic as the correct one for reasoning in all domains.
