Anna L Christie is a Director of Studies in Law at Newnham College and a PhD candidate in Law at Trinity College. She researches in the fields of corporate governance, comparative company law and takeover regulation. Her PhD thesis focuses on hedge fund activism and hostile takeovers, with a particular emphasis on activist board representation. At the Faculty of Law, she teaches on the Corporate Governance LLM course. Anna studied an LLB degree in Law with Accounting & Finance at the University of Aberdeen. She then completed the LLM at Harvard Law School and the BCL at Balliol College, Oxford. She also holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. She is qualified as an Attorney in New York, as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and a Solicitor and Notary Public in Scotland. Following qualification, she worked for a number of years as a corporate lawyer in cross-border mergers and acquisitions and as chief of staff to the CEO of a global energy company. She also serves as a Director of the Harvard Law School Association of the United Kingdom.
