On 9 November, Newnham’s Associates and Honorary Associates returned to College for their first AGM of the academic year. Principal Alison Rose attended the meeting; this was her first Associates AGM and was a great opportunity for the Principal to meet this important alumnae group and hear more about what they are doing, and for the Associates to meet our new Principal.
After the AGM and a delicious lunch in College Hall, a number of Associates ran a CV Workshop for current students in the Cynthia Beerbower Room. Associates met one-to-one with students for 30 minutes to provide career and CV advice. Twenty-seven students met with the Associates, and had been allocated time slots with Associates that related to their professional field of interest. Providing career advice and guidance to students is a key tenet of the Associates – sharing their diverse experience and expertise to help students, both undergraduate and graduate, as they begin to embark on their professional lives. The workshop was well attended, and many students expressed how helpful they had found the session.
